Clar does not collect or send your projects, contacts, audio, or other personal content to us (Lleu Labs). Your data stays on your device.
Data on your device
Clar has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, or cloud sync. Your project information is stored in a local database encrypted with SQLCipher. Clar's local database backups are encrypted as well.
Audio, artwork, and other library files remain regular files in the location you choose. Database encryption does not encrypt those files.
Network connections
Clar works offline. If you choose to download FFmpeg through the app, Clar connects to the download provider; that provider may receive standard connection information such as your IP address. Links to Clar's website and documentation open in your browser and are subject to the website's own privacy practices.
You may choose not to connect to or download FFmpeg through a third party provider from within Clar. You can configure Clar to use any other FFmpeg binary you choose.

Your choices
You control the local data and files Clar uses. Removing them from your device removes Clar's local copies, subject to any backups you have kept.

Clar is built with the following open-source libraries, which, to the best of our knowledge at the time of this release, do not engage in telemetry or data collection:

Lleu Labs Inc. makes no guarantees about the privacy practices of these projects beyond what was known at the time of release. We encourage you to review their respective policies if you have concerns.
Children's Privacy
Clar is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
Changes to This Policy
If material changes are made to this policy in a future release, we will update the effective date and note the changes in the release notes. Since no data leaves your device, any such changes would be limited to updates in how Clar operates locally.
